Bags by Babs

My bags are an expression of a life-long love of fashion, fiber, and texture.  Inspired by my grandmother--who was always dressed to the nines with a fabulous handbag on her arm – a bag covered in glitter and most likely involving a poodle--I learned to see clothing as more than just something to wear.   

It was on a quest for interesting fibers and fabrics that I became fascinated with felting. I love the idea of knitting something flat and then transforming the loose-knit yarn into a new object with it's own personality and shape. Although my own everyday purse is a well-loved and well-worn leather carryall, it isn't the type bag you take to lunch or to a cocktail party.  My bags are created not be carried but to be worn.  They are an adornment like jewelry – a reflection of your personality.

My bags are 100% wool or silk/wool.  Because I create each bag individually, no two bags are the same, each is one-of-a-kind.
